How do I activate my card on the StreetBase Website?

You should have been given all the details you need, but if not, you will need your card number, your date of birth & the activation password - which is 'str33tbas3'. During the activation process you will need to select your username and own password

What happens if I have problems with my card or it is stolen or lost?

Let us know as soon as possible online at help@streetbase.info.  To help us assist you promptly in this matter please include the following information within your email to us

  • Your Name
  • Your Date of birth
  • Your Address
  • Your School
  • Your Class
  • Whether you have you added cash to your parentpay account? [YES/NO]
  • Whether tha card has already been activated? [YES/NO]
  • Reason for reporting? [Lost / Stolen / Not working etc]

IMPORTANT: Make sure you don’t lose your card to avoid losing points. Keep your StreetBase card safe!

  • 1 loss – we will replace your card for free
  • 2 losses – 100 points will be deducted from your account
  • 3 losses – 500 points will be deducted from your account and a further 500 points will be deducted every time you lose your card after this

How many rewards can I redeem per calendar month?

Please note that with effect from the 13th October 2015, you may only redeem 1 StreetBase reward per calendar month plus 4 free swims.

Any further rewards that you attempt to claim during the month will be refunded.

You will be sent the first reward that you claim.

Even though it has been essential to make this change, we hope that you continue to enjoy collecting points and use the StreetBase Reward Scheme.

Can I use my card in my local council leisure centre?

Yes, your existing memberships will be automatically be added to your new Street Base Connect card.

Can I use my card in my school library?

No, unfortunately, this facility is not available.

Can I collect points by visiting my local library or attending the Broadway Theatre?

With effect from the 1st April 2016, students will no longer be able to receive points from visiting the library or attending a show at the Broadway Theatre. This change is as a result of a reduction in funding.

 

How will I pay for my school dinners?

Parents or guardians will receive a letter with activation details to make payments to your secure account using ParentPay. They will be able to make secure payments online using their credit or debit cards; no card details will be stored in any part of the system. If they want to continue to make payments for your meals using cash, they can do so using a PayPoint network at local stores.

What happens if I am entitled to free school meals?

If you receive school meals, your daily school allowance will be added automatically to your account and you will not need to take any action.

If I have free school meals, can extra funds be added onto my account?

Your parents or guardians can add extra money to your account online or using a local PayPoint network or their Parent Pay account.

Where will my parents or guardians find local PayPoint networks?

Go to www.paypoint.co.uk to locate your nearest PayPoint network using the online PayPoint Agent Locator.

Will my parents or guardians have access to my Street Base Connect card account?

Your account is for 11 to 19 year olds only and is your own personal account. It is your responsibility to keep your password safe. They cannot access your details unless they have your password.

Who are Parent Pay?

Parent Pay are the company school dinner money credits - they are a partner to the project, and are the people supplying the technology to make this work

How do I activate my card to accept payment?

If you are 11 to 19 years old and in school, your parents will soon be sent an activation letter. Once they receive this letter they will be able to make payments to a secure account that will top up your Street Base Connect Card so you can swipe it in school to pay for healthy school meals.

Where and how can I put credit on the card?

ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments online whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.

Alternatively you can buy credit using PayPoints, dotted around the borough.

When can I log into my account?

Once you have received your activation letter from school with your activation login details you’ll be able to activate your account and start making payments. This letter will be sent to you soon by your school.

Which card can I use?

ParentPay accepts MasterCard and Visa credit cards, and Maestro, Switch, Delta, Electron, Solo and Visa debit cards. Some schools may limit the use of credit cards for some transactions; you will be informed by the school directly of any such restrictions.

Is it safe to make payments on the internet?

Yes. ParentPay uses leading technology to process your card transactions securely. All communication with the bank is encrypted and neither ParentPay nor the school have access to your card details.

How can I check that it's secure?

Standard website addresses begin with http; the address for a secure site will always begin with https. You will also see a padlock at the bottom/top right of the screen on our login page and after you have logged into your account; never enter your card details or personal data on any web page whose address does not start https.

What about our personal information?

ParentPay holds a very limited amount of information about you and your child solely for the purpose of administering your account; however ParentPay does not use your personal information other than for supporting the school. We do not share or give information to any other organisations. We operate under strict guidelines set out by the Data Protection Act 1998.

ParentPay will NEVER contact you by phone, email or mail and ask you to divulge confidential information like passwords or card numbers.

I don't have a home PC so how can I use Parent Pay?

Why not visit your local library, internet café or see if you can get access to a computer at work alternatively ask if you can use your school’s computers. Many schools have computers available for parents and will be happy to show you how to use them.
